Edmonton Enbridge Leadership Luncheon Series 2009

The Edmonton and Area Famous 5 Society together with Enbridge Inc. are pleased to bring this series to Alberta’s capital Edmonton.

It is the manner in which we as Women Mentor, Assemble our Team, Build Consensus and achieve our goals that leaves the distinct footprint we call Leadership.  Edmonton was the centre of activity for the ladies we call the Famous 5.  It is indeed fitting that we are here at the Hotel Macdonald where the Famous 5 team would have lunch or tea when their busy day would allow.  Can’t you picture them in the Wedgewood room as they shared their vision of a better way for women.  Women not persons you say _ how ridiculous. We will change that and so they did.

The Famous 5 set the benchmark high as they dealt with the Women’s issues in the beginning of the 20th century.  The 21st century brings it’s challenges for Women as well. We will share the vision and learn from the mentoring of Women with such distinctive footprints. It is also our goal to pass this legacy to younger women who will be the women of leadership in the next generation.

Edmonton continues to be a centre for women in Leadership.

As our luncheon series continues we are committed to celebrate our present leaders in order that they will become the Mentors of our daughters and granddaughters.

As chair I am proud to introduce our team without whom we would not be here today.

Firstly our Principle sponsors from Enbridge.  It is a privilege to work with a company that is committed to developing leadership in women within their corporate structure as they are to the women in the community at large.  People such as Dan O’Grady and Bonnie Dupont who had the vision and made it happen.
